The BMW concept Vision Efficient Dynamics (i8) is a plug-in hybrid with a three cylinder turbodiesel engine and two electric motors.

For even more efficiency, the chassis is made from aluminium, the rest is made from polycarbonate glass.

Based on the Audi RS5, the Quattro concept features a modified 2.5l five-cylinder TFSI engine (@ 408hp) and the quattro permanent four wheel drive system.

The chassis is made from aluminium using the Audi Space Frame technology and additional carbon fibre components, which makes for a total weight of only 1.3t.

Why it’s awesome

When you think Audi couldn’t come up with an even better looking design, they blast you away with this... brilliant.
